This was a large event this year, with aproximately 150 guests/members, a few celebrity special guests, security and police escort. 12:30 PM - We let the bulls loose down PCH! Cars were released in order by "Color" to make the run look even more stunning this time! Several videographers were staked out in the Malibu Canyons and off the Santa Monica Bluffs for this "unforgettable" shot. This is a free but private event. El Jefe's on Eastern is an upscale Mexican restaurant, the perfect venue to spice things up. They have a great patio and lots of parking. They also have a nice private dining room if the weather is not favorable. Laurie has done large parties there before, and they have always been great to work with. We had our own parking area adjacent to the patio. El Jefe's has the most unique Mexican Food in the Las Vegas and Henderson area. The food is made from scratch using authentic recipes from the freshest ingredients: El Jefe's, 9925 S. Eastern Ave (St. Rose & Eastern), Las Vegas, NV 89183 (702) 453-5333. Fri-Sun, May 22-24 - 24 Hours of LeMons
Several Ferrari Club Members competed in the 24 Hours of LeMons. Conceived in 2006 in mock homage to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, the LeMons is likewise a marathon of man and machine. But unlike the gentlemanly Gallic race, LeMons is a 24-hour brawl and, more defining, nice cars are not welcome. The rules say that teams can spend no more than $500 on their vehicles before adding safety gear. FCA Members Chris Willett of the Sin City Lemons Team drove a white Volkswagen Jetta this year. Gordon Tronson, Jeff Wenger, and Chris Tromba of the Down Under Team drove a black 1995 Dodge Stealth. For more information see www.24hoursoflemons.com. See the pics...

Thursday - May 21, 2009 - Foundation Room
House of Blues Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay - We were again invited to party at the Foundation Room from 6:00 to 8:00pm at this exclusive Social Mixer on Mandalay Patio located 43 floors above the strip. The Foundation Room also features a variety of private rooms, a media screening room and several bars. The dress code is casual chic or better, and the dress code is strictly enforced. We met in the Shangri La Room. Thanks to Salomon Braun 702-423-2677 for setting up this event. See last year's pics...

The Opportunity Village/Ferrari Club of Las Vegas 5th Annual Car Show and Concorso was held in a new location this year. This year, Northern Trust chose to host the car show as a charitable event benefiting Opportunity Village. Opportunity Village recently opened a new campus at 6050 S. Sat - March 7, 2009 - Drive to Oatman, Arizona
Jackass Run to Oatman, Arizona, an authentic old western town. We departed from Cars and Coffee at 11:00AM, and were joined by other car clubs. We invited the Porsche, Viper and Lotus clubs to join us. Oatman, AZ has burros roaming the streets and gunfights staged on weekends, taking us back to the 1915 era old west. The burros are tame and can be hand fed. Today Oatman is a popular tourist attraction that draws visitors from all over the world. Oatman, AZ is located on historic Route 66. We had lunch at the Oatman Hotel. The Oatman Hotel was built in 1902, it is the oldest two-story adobe structure in Mojave County and has housed many miners, movie stars, politicians and other scoundrels. The town was used as the location for several movies such as How The West Was Won, Foxfire and Edge of Eternity. Clark Gable and Carol Lombard honeymooned at the Oatman Hotel March 18, 1939. Their honeymoon suite is still one of the major attractions at the Oatman Hotel. Gable returned there often to play poker with the local miners and enjoy the solitude of the desert. There are plenty of shopping opportunities in Oatman. Many of the shopkeepers make their own products and obtain other rare and interesting items from far and near. There are many handmade leather goods, handmade Indian jewelry and excellent knives sold right from the wooden sidewalks running the length of the town. Many thanks to Chris Tromba for arranging this event. See the pics...

A consistent winner in the annual "Best of Las Vegas" poll, Marché Bacchus was awarded the highest possible ratings from the Review Journal, an "A" in every category. Many thanks to Marti Ashcraft for making the arrangements. See the pics...
